You're not imagining it...

Your child’s fear and anxiety aren’t “just a phase.” And no, they’re not just being dramatic. But good news!

Does your child:

  • Clings at dropoff leaving you both feeling overwhelmed daily

  • Melts down over transitions turning simple moments into exhausting battles that leave you dreading the next one

  • Avoids new things impacting the whole family leaving you feeling embarrassed or ashamed

  • Constantly needs reassurance leaving you both frustrated and stuck in an exhausting cycle

You’ve probably tried staying calm.

You’ve Googled.

You’ve given it your all. You’ve asked your friends. You’ve even wondered if therapy is the next step… But it’s expensive, time-consuming. And you’re not even sure your kid would open up. You’re not failing. You just need a plan that puts the parent back in the driver’s seat.

This is what happens when you stop trying to eliminate anxious emotions, and start helping your child handle them.

Can you imagine this:

  • You know exactly what to say and what not to say so meltdowns are suddenly shorter and less frequent

  • Your child starts to do new things outside of their comfort zone, even when they're nervous

  • Your child no longer clings at goodbyes and goodnights, making drop offs and bedtimes easier

  • Your child tackles things independently you couldn't have imagined like, playing alone in another room

  • You hear "I'm so proud of myself!" regularly, and feel more connected to your child because they feel safe and supported through their worries

  • Your child confidently orders for themselves at a restaurant or says hello to a new person without you needing to prompt them

Here's what most people get wrong

You can’t logic your child out of their fear and you can’t walk on eggshells forever

Instead of constantly accommodating their worry, you need to help them build tolerance for it. There is an evidence-based framework for that, it’s called SPACE.

SPACE = Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions

SPACE is a research-backed approach proven to help parents reduce anxiety by changing our own responses. Learn the SPACE method, developed by Dr. Eli Lebowitz, proven in randomized controlled clinical trials to help parents reduce accommodations and empower kids to face their anxiety.

Welcome to the Parenting The Anxious Child Membership

The membership for parents of children between the ages of 3-10 who are ready to foster more independence and confidence while still creating connection and validation in the tough moments.

Parenting the Anxious Child Membership

This membership is an on-demand education and support hub for parents of kids struggling with fear, avoidance, and worry.

  • You will learn how to:

  • Identify the subtle ways you’re keeping your kids anxiety present and loud (that you probably don’t even realize and are doing out of love)

  • Set boundaries without feeling parental guilt (because you’re still validating and not hurting your child’s attachment in the process)

  • How to foster secure attachment AND a confident, independent child

  • Decrease your child’s fear over time with new tools that don’t require you to “fix everything” for them

  • Learn the language that’s proven to decrease your child’s anxiety (and yours!)

  • Trust yourself as a parent to know exactly what to say and what to do when the fear pops up (and handle it in a way that doesn’t control your family or lives)

The fact that you're even here reading this means you care deeply about your kid. You're not a bad parent for being afraid of their fear. You're a loving parent who's been trying to fix something that doesn't need fixing. You don't need to carry their anxiety anymore. This membership gives you the tools to put it down.

What others are saying

“New things can still be scary for [my child] but she’s trying them and making so much progress. She is going to school without issues and excelling. Sleeping in her own bed, showering independently, and engaging with other kids without me holding her hand. I have recommended you to so many of my friends and patients!”

“I learned a lot of languages I can use in the moment when my child's anxiety is overtaking a situation. My response has helped dissipate situations instead of increasing anxiety. I think this course has given me a great toolset that I have to continually use to be able to decrease my child's anxious symptoms over time. ”

“After working with Robyn, my child accepted my boundary much more readily than I expected and seemed to move on from the anxious feeling/perseverating more quickly than she has in the past.”

“Thanks to Robyn, I am now able to accept that both parents and children will need to experience the short-term discomfort of anxiety and the behavior it triggers to help my child build up to more confidence and independence in the long term.”
